Training & Capacity Building
Training and capacity building are central to the long-term impact of Karibu Parkparkers. The initiative recognizes that sustainable change depends on equipping individuals with practical skills and knowledge that can be applied beyond the program.
Participants—particularly youth and women—receive hands-on training in:
- Tailoring, knitting, and garment construction
- Product design and creative reuse of materials
- Craftsmanship techniques for producing high-quality items
Beyond technical skills, the program also provides business and entrepreneurship training, covering areas such as:
- Basic financial literacy and record-keeping
- Pricing strategies and cost management
- Business planning and management
- Customer relations and marketing skills
This dual approach ensures that participants are not only skilled producers but also capable entrepreneurs. Capacity building fosters self-reliance, enabling individuals to start and grow their own small businesses or cooperatives.
The program also encourages peer learning and mentorship, where experienced participants support newcomers, creating a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Over time, this builds a strong community network of skilled artisans and entrepreneurs.
